Part of being an artist is education. Education of one’s self, of students, of patrons, and of the public. Making art a part of everyday life is a core value for me.   • Self Employed, World wide — Freelance artist/teacher

    2003- PRESENT

    Working and selling through commissions across all mediums, I make most of my connections through networking with previous clients and finding like-minded individuals. I also volunteer, teaching courses for sustainable art practices, mending/sewing, graphic design, and illustration.

    Before Covid19 restrictions, I organized and taught weekly classes, as well as helped organize and run larger/long-term workshops, programs, and outreach.

    Textile (sew slöjd) Teacher: Jr School; at IESB, Stockholm

    2021-2022 School year.

    Introducing young students to the handcraft of textiles, we worked on many basic skills such as threading a needle and how to hold scissors. Since it was textiles specific we worked with many different materials and techniques including roving, yarn, weaving, fabric manipulation, patterns and principles of art and design.

    Long Term Substitute, Overland Park Kansas — SPED (Special Education) Teacher: English writing, Physical Science, American Government, and Study Skills.

    September 2020- 2021

    With Special Education, it is up to me to help ensure that kids who tend to struggle with standard learning also pass. We work on finding ways to communicate to each student and individually approach each problem in a way that is most beneficial to their way of learning. As a SPED teacher, I work with a team of teachers who each specialize in a given subject.

    Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop, Olathe Kansas—Stagecoach Driver, livestock handler, and Historical Enterperator

    October 2019 - August 2021

    It is my privilege to work with the Mahaffie Living history team of interpreters to portray a working farm in the 1860s. As a teamster, I am responsible for animal husbandry. Driving the stagecoach for public rides. We engage with the public to help educate them about their local history that helped shape the nation.

    It was my responsibility to create training packets for use of our equipment, oversee patient intake, support our clinical team, pitch in to help with delivery, 1 on 1 training to patients for use of oxygen and neonatal care equipment, billing, filing, and general customer service.

    2011- 2018

    As a server and bartender, it is always one's job to be courteous and efficient to take care of the guests and provide a top-notch experience. As a bartender, it also fell to me to do liquor orders, bottle counts, rotation of stock, and answer any incoming phone calls while expediting TOGO orders.

    Great Day Cafe, Overland Park — General Manager

    2009-2011

    The Great day cafe was a morning hotspot for locals to get their daily cup of coffee, breakfast, and or pastry. During the Farmer’s Market season, we participated by maintaining a booth at the Overland Park Farmers Market, selling not only our coffee and pastries but also retailed Farm to Market Bread. It was my job to maintain relationships with our suppliers as well as provide the necessary counts. It also fell to me to make the weekly schedule and payout tips to the employees.

    Prior to 2009 I had an assortment of jobs including, horse trainer, costumer, general maintenance worker, personal assistant and art studio monitor. These positions were held during my years studying and living in Incline Village, Nevada USA.

    Before 2004 I worked as a camp councilor at GSUSA summer camps and participated in their LEADERSHIP 101 Program.
